365.6/17/10: Day 164

Got my new sneaks today (o:

... and I've learned that I am not cut out for online shopping. I am too much of an "instant gratification" type of person. Waiting for shoes, clothes or anything else for that matter, to come in the mail, drives me bananas.

365.6/16/10: Day 163

This might look like an empty parking lot to you... but to me, it's OUR empty parking space, which means my wonderful, lovely boyfriend left it empty for me (which he has been doing pretty much everyday lately), and he parked in the street (which isn't far away), but it really the little things that count. (o:

365.6/15/10: Day 162

My team from work went and volunteered for a local non-profit farm today (www.thefoodproject.org) We weeded, we planted. It was a beautiful day w/ good people, and what will be good food (come Fall)!

365.6/14/10: Day 161

Monday night chore... food shopping! Of course we use re-usable grocery bags... don't you?

365.6/13/10: Day 160

Ice cream cones w/ Nico (o:

365.6/12/10: Day 159

Hanging out at Mayflower. A little back "massage" from the boys felt good after a long run the night before (o:

365.6/11/10: Day 158

2010 Seaside Stride 5k!
Our running group! This year was even better than last year... we had some additions to the running group, great weather, great food, drink and laughs, AND I finished in under 30 minutes. 29:07 I believe. Yes!

365.6/10/10: Day 157

Alex got new sneakers today... lucky. I tried to get new sneakers but apparently there isn't a sporting goods, or shoe store in the entire North Shore that stocks a size 6. Damn small feet.

365.6/9/10: Day 156

Some of the bamboo I've been able to keep alive.

365.6/8/10: Day 155

Ok, ok... my apologies, this is a poor excuse for a photo, mainly because I can't find any pics that I took this day! But I wanted to document that Di was home!! We went out for mexican (yes, I had mexican for dinner 2 nights in a row, and it was delish), and the girls and I were so busy chatting, that I don't think I took any pics... so sad. So here is my proof that Di was in town (o: our text msg chat about me coming to Winthrop.

365.6/7/10: Day 155

Someone mentioned burritos at the gym, so we were then compelled to go to Cielito Lindo for mexican for dinner. This place not only has amazing burritos (which some of you may remember from a previous post, when I mentioned that the measure of a good burrito is whether or not it can stand up on end), but this place has THE most delicious guac evvvvvvver. Legit... best ever.

365.6/6/10: Day 154

One of those "micro-bursts" ripped through Andover and took down a whole line of trees across the street from the Verdaguer's... a scary scene!

365.6/5/10: Day 153

A perfect Saturday morning. A good workout, free yoga, Atomic Cafe, reading Glamour in the sun while Alex practices guitar.

365.6/4/10: Day 152

Today was one of those days where the sky couldn't make up it's mind. It was dark and cloudy ahead of me, sunny blue sky behind.

365.6/3/10: Day 151

365.6/2/10: Day 150

We've lived in our current apartment for over a year, and have never used the dishwasher. Yes, that's right... we actually use our dish washer like a closet, and store a few items in there (o: With only 2 people, and a limited amount of dishware, it's easier to just hand wash. But we ran out of dish soap, and w/ the torn up hands (which you saw in an earlier post), I welcomed the dishwasher for the past 2 nights.

365.6/1/10: Day 149

Sooo, you may remember that I posted a picture of our new mattress a couple weeks ago. Well, as much as I want to LOVE the new mattress, I've woken up every morning with a stiff neck since it was delivered. So today, I finally invested in a new pillow, to see if I can finally get comfortable. For $39.99, this better work!

365.5/31/10: Day 148

Memorial Day. First and foremost, have I mentioned how wonderful long weekends are?

One of the things I like about CrossFit, is that they memorialize men and women who are killed or injured in the line of duty, while fighting for this nice little country of ours, by naming workouts after them. These "named" workouts are typically very difficult, but the reason for them is what motivates people to work really hard to "kill 'em" if you will. Every Memorial Day, North Shore CrossFit does "Murph" and this was Alex and I's 3rd time taking part... here's the workout:

Murph
(for time)
1 mile run
100 pull-ups
200 sit-ups
300 squats
1 mile run
... that's right. Run a mile, do all that work, then run another mile. Alex "killed it" with a time of about 37 minutes. Me, on the other hand, it took me just over an hour, but I finished, and that's all that matters.

This picture is of my right hand, which is totally torn up from all the pull-ups (my left hand has a rip as well). Super painful, but worth it (o:

365.5/30/10: Day 147

Sunday, the first official Yirrell beach day of the summer. Had an impromptu BBQ & birthday cake w/ aunts, uncles and cousins and stayed until the sun went down. We couldn't have planned it any better. Can't wait for many more...

365.5/29/10: Day 146

Cotton candy sky.
